Overall the users who liked the Polar FS1 Heart Rate Monitor Watch found it easy to use, it has only one button, good value for money as it is cheaper than many other similar products and works as advertised. However there were some disadvantages. Unlike more expensive monitors it does not record a maximum heart rate or calories burned. Some people disliked the chest strap and a few men found the watch strap a little tight. The biggest complaint is that the battery cannot be changed yourself but the watch has to be returned to the manufacturer. The manufacturers say that ‘Polar heart rate monitors are precision instruments; consumers are not advised to change their own battery. Polar recommends that all service be done by an authorized Polar Service Center which will include a warranty for 90 days on repairs and 6 months for batteries.’
